These plates are manufactured when the orders are received. This listing is for a set (2 plates) of USA built Level 3+ plates. One plate is a Swimmer's cut with angled lower corners (usually worn in front) and a SAPI cut worn in the rear (also USA made). Most people wear the Swimmer's cut plate in the front carrier pocket and the SAPI cut plate in the rear pocket. MODEL: GTS-HAP-1012-RF2-AL (Configuration S for Standard).

This model complies with NIJ Standard 0101.06 for Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor. In an effort at transparancy and as evidence that our plates perform as advertised, we have tested our armor against the following calibers (RF1 and RF2 Categories - with test reports from NIJ-approved labs).

7.62x51mm, 7.62x39mm (MSC, AK-47), SS109, M193, M855, M855-A1. This armor plate is made in the USA! Our GTS line meets both NIJ 0101.06 and NIJ 0101.07 standards for the challenging RF2 category (special threat). For more information, please refer to our testing reports.

The plates will be supplied with black front and rear covers with appropriate ballistic tags. A note about our NIJ-approved labs test reports: For your consideration - We include test reports for ALL ceramic batches and backing material combinations. Size: 10" wide x 12" tall.

Outer Material (cover): Durable black waterproof nylon with plate edge padding and strike face rubberized coating. Shelf Life: Minimum 5 years.

Plates can be used as front or rear plates. Make sure that the STRIKE FACE (see ballistic tag) is situated toward the threat and the plate(s) is carried in a quality vest or carrier. Superior mosaic ceramic configuration (as opposed to monolithic) allows for multi-hits without performance deterioration of surrounding ceramics. This is NOT a military item. This is a level III hard armor SAPI cut plate (non-military). This item is manufactured by GTS in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. We comply with every line of the policy.

Items identified on the US Munitions List found in the ITAR Part 121 that are allowed such as commercially available body armor, firearm scopes, and night vision goggles must follow all applicable laws and meet all of the following criteria. Body armor is allowed if. It isn't military issued (complied with - see above). It's a level I, II, or III body armor or Small Arms Protection Insert (SAPI) plate which is included in the listing (complied with - see above).
