Note, price is per plate, please get 2 for a set. Hudi's Tactical Level 3++++ Ballistic Armor Plate weighs in at only 6.4 pounds and measures 10x12, which fits in any standard sized plate carrier. Featuring a slim 0.8 profile and ergonomic curvature.
The plate is designed to stop. 30 caliber black tip rounds, and offers highest available protection. The plates are made from ceramics with a polyethylene backplate (itself rated at Level IIIA). The ceramics has a mosaic pattern giving them improved multi-hit capabilities. We tested them with 2 rounds of 7.62 NATO M80, 2 rounds of 5.56 M193 and 2 rounds of 5.56 M855.
None of them penetrated the plate. The only significant deformation is when a 7.62 NATO round struck 1.5 from the edge.
BUFFMAN RANGE test, NIJ Level III+ / NIJ 07 RF2. Material: AlO2 Ceramics + Polyethylene (UHMWPE). This model complies with NIJ Standard-0101.06 for Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor.
