Ballistic Material: Alumina Ceramic 99%+ pure and GTS Spec UHMWPE Backer. Ballistic Performance: 7.62x39mm AK47 MSC, 7.62X51mm M80 5.56X45 SS, 109/M855 (penetrator)/M193, multi-hit capable. Outer Material (cover): Durable black waterproof nylon with plate edge padding and strike face rubberized coating. Shelf Life: Minimum 5 years. This is NOT a military item. This is a level III hard armor SAPI cut plate (non-military). This item is manufactured by GTS in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. This model complies with NIJ Standard 0101.06 for Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor. Our UHMWPE backers are heated, and compression moulded. Our backing material is not made from loose plies or superficially heated material. It is dense and it's solid. We do not use heavy E-glass backing and monolithic ceramic plates which are very heavy. Our UHMWPE backing is light, but very strong. We use 99%+ pure alumina ceramic for increased hardness and temperature resistance. We apply American-made industrial adhesives between our ceramic tiles in order to bond them for increased multi-hit resistance. Superior mosaic ceramic configuration (as opposed to monolithic) allows for multi-hits without performance deterioration of surrounding ceramics. Price is for a single plate. Plates can be used as front or rear plates. Make sure that the "STRIKE FACE" is situated toward the threat.
